Artist's Comments

As a member of :iconsupersmashbros-oc:, I enter my own character as my first into the fray.

Name: Joseph Staleknight
Age: 18
Weapon: A hammer made of Ether/Quintessence, which he can call forth/dispatch when needed; four crystals, representing four elements (red for fire, blue for water, white for air, and yellow for earth)
Family: Mother, Judith, practicing witch and psychologist; father, Richard, literary aficionado
Job: Mage/College Student
From: (Fantasy) Aurochs Island; (Real Life) Washington DC
Born at: 1/29/90, Virginia
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Fighting Symbol: An S with a crossbar (refer to pic above to see it.)

:star: Profile:

He has two distinct fighting styles, based on whether he has his hammer out or not. His crystals always surround his head, and only fly wherever he goes.

Pros:
*Has quite the power; he can actually give out significant amounts of damage if he charges his attacks long enough.
*Dodges well.
*Tends to be quick with the crystals

Cons:
*With the hammer, he is slower (has to carry extra weight).
*Can't shield at all.
*Limited range---no projectile attacks.

:star: Personality

Works well with magic, and fights for his beliefs. Some say that he is not public enough, but that's only because he more often plays on his computer. When he's off it, however, he does communicate well, if briefly. In battle, he doesn't show mercy unless something bad happens to his opponents that he feels could make the game unfair.

**** Moveset

A: (No Hammer) Punch, Counter Punch, Kick: Throws a right, then a left, and kicks upward, for three presses of the A button.
(Hammer) Swing Hammer. Non-Combo-able

<-A->: (No Hammer) Right Hook
(Hammer) Hammer Punch: Thrusts hammer straight at opponent.

>A> (Dash attack): (No Hammer) Drill: Spins feet first into opponent.
(Hammer) Battering Ram: A running version of Hammer Punch.

/\ A: (No Hammer) Jump Kick: Jumps, thrusts his leg upwards, and pokes opponent with extended foot.
(Hammer) Anti-Air: Swings hammer above head to bring down any opponents.

\/ A: (No Hammer) Rising Scissors: Goes into a handstand position, kicking left and right.
(Hammer) Hammer 360: Swing hammer in a full circle at his feet.

B: (No Hammer) Crystal Flash: The crystals flash for as long as B is held down (max. 5 seconds). Anyone caught within range gets damaged.
(Hammer) Hammerang: Throws hammer so that it swings around him once before returning to his hands.

<-B-> : (No Hammer) Crystal Swipe: Grabs one of the crystals and swings in front of him. Anyone who gets damaged will also be affected by the element of the crystal (e.g. water crystal will freeze opponent, air crystal will smack him upward, etc.)
(Hammer) Counter: This is quite useful. He holds the hammer in front of him and his body flashes once. If he is interrupted in that time, he automatically replicates the opponent's side special. (This can make up for his lack of projectile moves if he's facing, say, Snake.)

/\ B: (No Hammer) Crystal Chain: The crystals will become a chain which he can use to grab ledges and save himself.
(Hammer) Sonic Thrust Ram: Charges up his hammer in Battering Ram position for a maximum of five seconds. After that, he dashes forward with his hammer in battering position for a distance proportionate to his charge time.

\/ B: Hammer Invoke/Banish: Uses this move to switch between hammer- and no-hammer-style.

***** Final Smash:

Wheel of Fortune: He transforms his hammer into a large cross, and makes the crystals into long pillars that attach to the "armpits" of the cross. Then he spins the resultant contraption
so that a rim of ether forms on the tips of the spokes. This lasts for about 10 seconds, during which anyone caught entering, within, or on the rim of the "wheel" gets massive damage and knockback. After that, his crystals and hammer disappear for ten more seconds, leaving him in a weakened no-hammer-style state.

***** Stage:

Aurochs Castle: Basically, his official stage is some sort of modern-day castle. Sure, we're fighting on top of one medievalesque tower with a tiled floor, but there are flying platforms that have jets attached, and the walls are made of Plexiglas bricks! At the start, it will look exactly like Battlefield, but as time goes on, it may form into one of these formations:
*The two flanking platforms will either disappear or tilt in either this (/ \) or this (\ /) fashion.
*The center platform will either disappear as well or split into two mini-platforms that gradually move away from, then toward, each other before reforming.
*All three platforms may become rings and bounce off each other as they fly around the visible extent of the stage.
*Occasionally, a fourth platform (with a spiked bottom, no less) will fly over the stage either from the left or right.
The background will constantly be cycling throughout the visible spectrum per KO or SD. About 7 of them will change, say, red to orange.

***** Items:

Magic Badges: Neutralizes the effects of any element-based attacks. There are five---four for the elements (colored the same way as the crystals) and a fifth purple one to neutralize other (e.g. dark or aura) energy.

***********************************

***** Taunts: Puts down his hammer (if he has it), crosses his arms, and says one of the following:

/\ T: "We're all mad here, right?"

<-T->: "Well, no doubt, Sherlock!"

\/ T: "All this, and no turning back."

***** Victory Poses:

1. Shoves his hammer into the ground, Ike-style, and says, "I've had my adrenaline quota for now."

2. Holding his hammer across his torso, he banishes it, then looks at the gamer.

3. Finishes drawing his insignia on the ground with the hammer (We see him putting the crossbar on the S).

(Bonus: If winning against Kaisui Izumi, he proceeds as in #1, but now says, "You said something about 'Master of the Elements', right?")

*****Theme Soundtrack:

1. Against the Dark Knight (Fire Emblem)
2. Brain Cleaner (F-Zero)
3. "Too Much of Heaven" by Eiffel65 [link]
4. Tunnel Scene (X)
5. Opening (Super Smash Bros. Melee) (Brass and Flute Trio version; this version is perhaps more subdued than the original)
6. "Violet Hill" by Coldplay [link] (The last few bars form his victory theme.)
7. Gourmet Race (Kirby)
8. The Plains (SSE)

...and that's it. For now.
