WARNING: BI

Way back when, balloon travel was big business (before planes really took off in the 20s), and so was the allure of the feminine ideal. A couple of entrepreneurs decided to combine both to form what was to be called "Project Flying Dreams", better known as the Giantess Airways. They would employ willing and able young women, ages 21 to 40, to become the titular Giantesses. The application process involved a growth serum, one zeppelin's worth of helium, and enough ballast to counter that amount. Once the serum was applied to the employees, they would grow to over 100 feet at the minimum, whereupon the helium would be administered until they felt light on their feet and had their bellies perfectly round. They would then be tasked with delivering heavy cargo to another city with a Giantess facility, and shrink down to human size. Those who did so without fail got the job, but even the rejected pilots would still enjoy other jobs within, such as assistance or luggage transport; it is said that the Airways were the stablest company of the early 20th century due to their creative approach to employment.

Once the project found its first few Giantesses, they began serving people who wished to take advantage of air travel. Many have described the wonder as "groundbreaking" and "unique", though there were a few detractors claiming that even as this type of transportation was safe and enjoyable for both riders and pilot (very few accidents happened, as the pilots were instructed in basic first aid and were certified sane), their early dress code was risque (they wanted to take advantage of the newfangled fashion of rebellious women), and eventually the Giantesses had to settle for plain old specially-made blouses, which at least looked bright and colorful. The business was a huge commercial success, at least before the advent of heavier-than-air aircraft.

Shown here is Rosemonde Desjardins, one of the premier Giantesses, notable for popularizing the Giantess Airways cap iconic of all pilots, which generated a subfranchise of Giantess caps and other paraphernalia. They say she dyed her hair blond to make herself stand out from the crowd, what with being a very tanned lady. More importantly, she was one of the very few who remained in the service of Giantess Airways until they were forced to close down due to the booming popularity of the airplane, and is reputed to have still walked in public with at least a swollen belly ("for memory's sake," she claimed) before her death in 1945, at the age of 60.
